Nice break Rich!
I usually go once a week.
any tips? LOL potting isnt so bad, but positional play, well, thats another thing all together!
i think i need coaching myself - i dont think i keep my arm straight when cueing.

Got to get your position comfortable. Also, don't grip the cue too hard, and actually concentrate on every shot. I know that sounds strange, but I used to concentrate a lot less on shots I knew weren't that difficult.
I usually go through a set routine before getting down to play - a sort of mental checklist so that I'm not thinking of anything else, and tend to keep my cueing arm quite relaxed.
I also found I was over-hitting a lot of shots, at the expense of position.

Yes, keep your arm, head and cue in a straight line and push the cue RIGHT the way through............... dont jab at it, easier said than done though isnt it

Jabbing the ball is a problem for me.
i cant often get enought (any) back spin i can get the cue ball to stop on the spot, but getting it screw back is difficult.
Just been reading up stuff - i been doing lots - wrongly
good job im going tomorrow night - put a few new things into practice.
i think i annoy the people i go with though as i take longer than they do on shots.
also just realised i am Right Eyed, and i've been sighting shots like i am even eyed.

I used to book a table for 3 hours and practice.
Also helped no end when Dad ran a social club with a table.
Used to go up with him at 8am to start clearing up, then play/practice from 10 - 2 whenever I wasnt working. Done that for a good 3 years.

58 was my best break, quite a few years ago though as got more into playing pool and won quite a few trophies to
Much prefer pool now compared to snooker and reckon 8 ball is better than 9 ball as find the bigger balls used on the 9 ball tables harder to hit correctly and more difficult to control.
Have been watching the IPT 8 ball pool on Sky recently as some of them dudes are rather good!! They are playing for $2 million prize money and all

Pool is def easier than snooker mate but also far more exciting as snooker players tend to be more conservative and never take a risk and play a difficult shot! You have to think about your shot far more in pool as making a mistake often costs you the game!!

my dads mates with joe swailes and robin hull for those that know there snooker, ive played a game against both and against robin i got a break of 8 (1 red and the black) then i missed the next shot and didnt hit another ball in that game lol
and against joe he gave me a 100 start i breaked to start the game off and didnt touch a ball after that, you would have thought they was playing in the crucible
so my highest break is 8
i prefer pool
