changing rear springs on RST
need to raise the rear a tad so got a new set of springs ready to fit.
question is how do i go about doing it? not sure where to put the trolley jack as it cant go in the rear centre due to fuel pump so guessing jack up the rear spring seat then support under sill or something?
obviously need the spring seat hanging free to get the spring out so jack up there but where to put the block of wood?
oh and it should just be a simple pull the spring out and put the new one in yea or do i need to disconnect the ARB?
cheers!

easy way:
unbolt the top of the strut inside the boot
jack car up on that side (just use a soild point at the back at the side)
wheel n suspension stays on floor, car raises... you can now swap the spring
let the car abck down and bolt the strut back up
repeat process from other side
you dont even have to take the wheels off mate! its a LOT easier than you'd think!

Never changed em on a mk4 RST, but done it plenty of times on mk4 XR3i's.....
Jacking all I did was jack it up and put it on axl stands - 1 on each side, and I placed em under the tie bar bracket. Then to get the spring out you need to remove the long bolt from the wishbone where it meets the chassis - right in the middle by the fuel tank. Again 1 bolt each side. On yours you might have t oremove or disconnect the ARB aswell.
Before you have the long bolt out of the wishbone tho, you need to get a trolly jack under the wishbone to support it. This is cos the spring is compressed and jsut wipping the bolt out means the wishbone is gonna be forced open and the spring fly out and probably kill you. So get a trolly jack under it, remove bolt then gently let the trolly jack down till spring is loose.
Then you can jsut take the spring out, put the rubber bush on the new spring and put that in place. Then pump the trolly jack up again till it is compressed again (make sure your bolt holes are lined up) then put the long bolt back on and tighten.
here - I done an entire photo-thread when I did al my suspension and bushes a while ago;
