PassionFord Post Whore!!
Not exactly a moment really.
They have a very serious point.
The fault lies with the existing 'Nuclear powers'
As long as 'the west' have them there will be other states who will feel they also need them
This country (along with 5 others) signed a Nuclear Non-proliferation treaty back in the 60's but are breaking that treaty by failing to work towards disarmament.
Tony Blair has already stated that the only real threat of a nuclear attack on our shores comes from a Terrorist's dirty bomb and accepts that our nuclear weapons are useless against such a threat.
He is still going to spend £25-40 billion replacing Trident (a clear breach of the non-proliferation treaty) on an 'insurance policy'
Strange insurance policy though as it's existence actually increases the risk that is it supposed to protect against
We have a moral (and legal) obligation to rid the world of nuclear weapons and we should be leading by example
South Africa, Ukraine, Kazakstan (yekshemesh ) & Belarus managed it
