Howdy folks. Right then, my mum runs a private health care company and one of the old women she looks after passed away last week. Anyway, she has a 90 spec XR3i that may be coming my way for free. Its been sat on her drive, not moved or started, for at least 5 years. However, before it was left standing it was immaculate with very low miles on it (so i have been informed by the mother).

Anyway, what would it take to get it back on the road again after sitting for so long. More importantly, would it be worth it?

Cheers

Chris

I've gotta get it back to mine first. Unfortunately the woman's family have passed responsibility of the will onto the solicitors, so im afraid that it's going to get towed to the scrapper

My mum is gonna get on the blower first thing in the morning to try and make sure the car makes it my way, really dont want it getting scrapped!

Are these rarer than the Turbo's these days? I went through 12 pages in the for sale section earlier and i only found one, and that wasn't the 90 spec model

Contact the solicitor. All money into the estate will be welcome.

Make them a cheapish offer and see what they say.

Can only say no or come back with a figure they are looking for.

People in this situation dont want things like this hanging around too long, and if it goes to the scrapper, odds on they will have to pay!

Well i contacted the woman's nephew today who is getting in touch with the solicitors. I have first refusal and i'll need to pay a small amount (talking less than Ł50) for the car.

Although i've now found that it has been sat in the same spot, not moved, for 9 years!!!!!

If the chassis is in good nick this will defo be a big resto job, which should be interesting as until i've struggled to change brake pads!

Cars don't like sitting.

Its still round the old woman's house. I've got first refusal on it as soon as the solicitors sort stuff out. She has no surviving relatives, so they're in no rush. Neither am i though, my Corrado is off the road at the minute taking up the drive space anyway!
