Default HOW LONG TO BOIL AN EGG???

Bit of a dumb question, but how long do u need to boil an egg? Gonna surprise the girfriend sum brekkie in bed and she likes them runny in the middle!

Any addvice would be wicked!!!!

3 minutes from the boil, posibbly 3 and a half for large quail eggs and 4 minutes for the rare aboriginal haddock bird eggs from australia.

I usually do 7 mins in simmering water (thats what aunt Delia told me lol)

Trial and error really.

bring teh water to the boil
drop the eggs in with a spoon
let them go for between 2 1/2 and 3 minutes
job done
