Is a 42" Plasma too big??
Thinking of upgrading to a Panasonic 42" Plasma but just not sure if the actual size of it looks too big.
Any peeps with one what do you think?
Or people who have thought about getting one, what do you think??
Its either this or the 37" version.

Thanks. My main concern is just looking at them in the shops, to me the 37" looks normal, lol. But the 42" just looks huge
But i dont want to buy one of them and not be happy

We have a 46" rear pro which is a nice size. It gives us scope to change the room around and not worry about straining to see it. Definately depends on room size and layout though. Definately go bigger than 40" unless you have a tiny box bedroom at home with your parents.

I've got a small front room and the front of my couch is approx 8ft away from the wall where the 42" Panasonic is mounted on the wall - I think its spot on & doesnt intrude into the room at all.
I've got the Panasonic TH42PHD8 & I am VERY happy with it, so you should be made up with yours too!!!

i WAS gonna get a 42 but decided on a 37" toshiba and am really happy with it. I think the42 would hae been far to big for the room...... although the misses is trying to get me to put it in the bedroom and get another telly fir the living room. 50" shes losing the battle though. If i did get a 50 then id be climbing over the damn thing to get in the room !!

deffinatly go for the 42, imho its a nice size and thats what ill be going for next, apart from id go for lcd over plasma as the plasma screens ive been looking at dont appear to have the quality in the picture of the lcd

i'd recommend the 42" over anything smaller unless your room is very very small
Heres a pic of our house before we moved in (32" telly)
and one of it now 42" Philips HDTV

I just got a 37" and TBH i think it looks a bit big for my living room, and the room is 3m x 6.5m...
I should have gone for a 32" i think, but i am the type of person who doesnt like it when the TV really dominates the room
It is good to watch though

i was toying with the idea of a 37 but, compared price wise, the 42 is the much better deal, and you soon start to think it's not big enough
i ditched the 32 sony to my brother and even though it's a big telly, it's nowhere near as good to watch
once you go big, nothing else looks the same, sodon't start to think about getting a poky little 28 inch cheapo version from tescos or somethng
