Buying a house
Me and my lass are in the middle of buying our first house and finding it all very slow going. Hopefully we'll be in by the middle of feb finally.
How long can you be expected to wait between having a offer accepted to been given the keys??

I viewed mine in March and moved in end of July.
but I had problems with mortgage lender (they ran out of money I recon) and that slowed things down.

10 weeks minimum, blame solicitors for it, they never speak to each other or other companies such as search companies.
They just send letters and wait for responses often within 28 day windows. I'm sure it could be much faster, you have to keep pestering everyone, estate agents, solicitors daily.
It is also best to be in contact directly with the buyers/sellers then you can update your own solictors with the progress.
DO NOT rely on what estate agents tell you, many of them are lying arse holes.

Solicitors absolutely. We agreed a sale on ours last June, moved in in November, still wouldn't have been now if we hadn't of complained to the buyers solicitors boss. Useless wankers who think a letter is enough when a phone call is all it takes.
Next time I'll do it myself.
Cheers
