Right, I have my 40gb ipod. set up on my pc with Itunes...

ive also bought my missus an Ipod nano... now can she have her own itunes set up on the same pc?.. as she wont want to load all my stuff and fill her nano up

we have one pc in the house and need to manage two ipods

You can set up a playlist in itunes for her, put all her tunes in it and upload as usual from there.


Just make sure the ipod sync's with the right playlist when uploading

at the mo, im yet to connect to the pc

 

When you connect the ipod if its itunes 7 you have , you can select the playlist the ipod syncs to.

 

I've done this way with my missus shuffle as well, I've made hers have a playlist while mine just picks the checked songs straight from the iTunes main folder

 

Are you running XP with the seperate user accounts? Wouldn't it keep it seperate that way round also?

 

no iTunes doesn't have different sign in accounts like XP, its a good idea though but its probably why Apple won't do it

 

No you misunderstand, what i meant was in 'Daves account' set iTunes up in there for him and then set it up in the 'Doris' account to for her.

Thus removing all chances of her uploading Dave's porn stash

I don't think that would work cos it would load iTunes from the same program folder so it wouldn't know to seperate them...

I think anyway lol

 

Billy is right - we have 4 user accounts on our PC and each of us has our own version of itunes.

No problems with this at all and it makes it easy to keep our files, emails, internet favourites etc separate too.
