anyone here work on VW's or golfs?
I have a problem with my Mk4 Golf TDI. The other night when i started it the imobiliser light was flashing, according to the manual it means than a non approved key has been used. This wasnt the case and turning the car off then restarting the engine seemd to cure this. then the same night the key wouldnt open the drivers door, initally the spare key opened the door, but after the first time now niether key opens or locks the drivers door, both keys still lock and open the car via the passenger door, and the drivers door does lock and open when the car is locked and opened via the passenger door. Anyone got any ideas on what it may be? would the key need reprogramming or summit?

Redumbdancy
With regards to the imobiliser light. Try cleaning the key with a toothbrush - same sort of thing happens on my sisters golf. Its usually dust clogging up the connection between key and barrel for the imobilser chip.
Drivers lock always plays up at this time of year too - try wd40 on the key and in lock.
