how much power are you looking at?

4x4 is expensive if you want decent reliable big power.

If you can drive it has to be a 2 wheel drive one If you can't stick to a 4x4

It depends if you want fast and safe or fun I suppose.

What power level?

I would say 2wd for anything up to about 380/400bhp and 4x4 after that

not really a good statment that Paul.

if you want to drive fast around the track....4x4.

if you want to drive with the arse hanging out.....2wd.

i quite like doing both.

I bought a 2wd because i wanted to learn to drive a 2wd car before i moved onto 4wd. Secondly i wanted over 400bhp and standard 4x4 transmissions are pretty weak at that type of power where as the 2wd will take it a bit more abuse, and i cant really afford the prices of stronger diff's and boxs that a 400bhp 4x4 would require to be reliable.

4x4 would imo be better if you can afford it for a track car because of the changeable weather conditions we have over here. Just means if cold and wet your still going to have some forward movement and grip.

Stavros

never looking to compete mate just for trackdays as static car shows have become boring as fuck i want to get in on the action

Bosch-Man

im feeling that i wrote the last 4x4 off when i lost it at high speed i tryed to correct it as i would in a rear wheeler but they have different ideas and the 2 of you fighting each other ends in carnage

similar, but when the front grips it pulls you aroung into a spin.

need a track day at a disued air field and get used to it going sideways.
