Default Tyre pressures?

195/50/15 - What sort of pressures should I inflate (or deflate) the tyres to?

The car is relitivily light, if that makes any difference.

Cheers!

Why more in the rear? Surely the front needs more due to engine weight etc
I do those pressures but the other way round

Because the fronts will heat up more in use - so evens things out better

Ford recommends 29 front and 26 rear for 'normal' and 37 front and 41 rear for fully laden.

I personally have them at 32 front and 29 rear running on Goodyear Eagle F1's and they feel spot on.

Dan anywhere around the 30 mark will be about right.

Its just a case of playing around with them to get it exactly how you want. If want it more planted at back run it lower or same as fronts. If want it a little more lively at the back then run more out backs.

Eg: In the old DC2 for me i found running 32 front and 35-36 rear was best and that was with the back end striped.

I like to run a hard tyre personally, I ran 35psi front and rear on Eagle F1s in a Mk3 Astra Merit with red top conversion. Back end was a bit flighty but once I got used to it I could throw the car into bends and 4 wheel slide it round like a man posessed. Never got out conered by any thing, was a pleasure to out brake and out corner an Evo IV on roundabouts. Great fun!

Just done the pressures, bought the wheels off someone else, rears were at 34psi, and 31.

And the fronts were at 24 and 25.

Up to 30 on the rear, and 29 on front.

Dan,

I run mine at F28 R26 when cool.

Anything over 28 and the rear tyres look twice the profile of the fronts
