if you won a TV and DVD package in competition at work that was meant to be worth over £1000

and then when you got it , it turned out to be a TV that was new in a box but 2 years old with no warrenty etc etc , and that has been discontinued

was i wrong to expect it to be a LCD or PLASMA.

I AM THAT PISSED OF THAT I GONNA GIVE IT THEM BACK AND TELL THEM TO SHOVE IT.

but the point is they are saying its worth over £1000 maybe £400 tops

as its an old style TV i think they are taking the piss i had to work really

hard over 2 months to win

but it defo is not , 2nd prize was £500 worth of vouchers and with them

i could have gone out and brought a proper tv all hd ready

had the same in an EDF raffle a few month back. Everyone was given a certificate of the prize they won, mine was a Panasonic DVD recorder with free-view. When it came it was a goodmans dvd recorder from argos, proper piece of junk. Everyone who won 'Kodak' digital cameras ended up with some venturi shit from makro and all the 'ipods' ended up as generic mp3 players. Tight twats and a proper kick in the balls. Felt like throwing that at them too so I know the feeling mate.

the wife won a kenwood smoothy maker from the school raffle, with only £2 worth of tickets.
anyhow after trying it i found it was shit, was washed it, dryed it, polished the clear plastic with kitchen towel and took it it back to argos (as it had argos sticker on it)
£25 back, thank you, ok was in vouchers but wife hade to get nipper a present worth £20 from there so we £20 cash up and £5 voucher

i work for a huge firm , our department alone sold 6 million pounds
worth of stuff this year

and there about another 100 or so more departments so gross

turn over is like 300 million , and they give a tv thats been sitting in a lock

up for 2 years .

mate i used to work for a compney that made wind turbin blades, there £70k each blade and we knocked out 4 in 24 hours (still had to be "finished") so just think how much money they made cos it was a 7 day 24 hour jobbie, and 1 year we got a fondo set, £25 m&s vouchers and £1k bonus and thats before tax
ok there were 400 people working there but i hear what ya saying, but im happy with what ever

so far in christmas raffles between me and the wife and keds we have had, smoothy maker, litre bottle of port and chochs and daughter won something at school.
not bad going,
3 years in row i won top pric at pub raffle, vcr, 14 inch tv, then dvd player the final year.

True, but what you got was 'as well' as your wages, this was our wages, so to speak. have spent all day being told by some jobsworth that there nowt that can be done til at least a weeks time, if we're lucky. As soon as I get everything healthwise sorted I shall be off benefit, plans are in motion to go self employed.
