Rrivate numbers ,, can you stop them????
Can you stop people who withheald there number from calling you ??
I am getting more and more people who withheald there numbers calling and most just seem to be complete tossers who ask fucking stupid questions and always seem to mess me about
Why do people withheald there numbers ?? have they somthing to hide etc
Anyway , can i stop them from being able to call me

you cant physically stop them from calling you however if you get a phone with a digital display you can seen the number calling you, if its withheld all you do is let the answerphone deal with it and state on the answer phone message that you may not be available or the person may be calling from a withheld number in which case you do not answer

I thought if they tried to call it was possible to set up a system where they got a message saying " this phone does not accept private numbers "
Anyone know if this is true ?? I know when im getting calls on my mobile that are withheald but not my landline

you need to re-register every 6mths or so to block out any new numbers which you inadvertantly subscribe to.

yes it is mate, but dont know what companies do it
my landline is private number and i remember phoning a breakers out of one of teh ford mags and it told me this person does not accept withheld number calls
carnt remember who though

I know there are many decent people who have private numbers for whatever reason , its just all the private numbers i answer seem to be total tossers 
If they get a message saying i dont accept private numbers ,,if they are decent people with nothing to hide then i am shure they will call on another phone etc

as said you can get this service from bt to block withheld numbers and also i have a service called "choose to refuse" ie if a number calls you such as an ex that is a bunny boiler you simply dial a number enter your code and it gives you the option to block all calls from that number

i had a problem with funny calls a while ago, i phoned bt who my landline is with, and explained i didnt want to recieve calls from witheld numbers, and they did it all for me. but my my mams number is ex directory, and so is one of my best mates, so there numbers are always witheld, so they couldnt get through, and i think they had to put 1470# in before they dialed my number, and it showed there number.

One of our mates got bt to stop privatenumbers, and when u ring him on one it says this person doesnt except incoming calls from private numbers.

My work calls, don't come up like private number. They say "call" and thats it, like a call would from abroad. Very odd.
But it means people always know its me thats ringing when they see that.

asked them to put a bar on phones that withold there number, most of them come from a network that cannot transmit number so it stops 99% of it

that only comes from an internal network where there are more than 1 phone line, ie call centres or extensions of different numbers usually

didnt think i would be ripped off by paul with him being an rs specialist.paid Ł1500 for a car that needed resheling,engine rebuiled[oil light stays on when hot] and bits n pieces missing;cash sale mot fail sheets two of them had 15 faults

thing is paul the way you wrote it you could visualise you doing exactly what you wrote, warning the guy that it might not be as good as HE thinks it is,
Basicly he made the error thinking it was an easy repair all you did was try to advise him that it might not be that straight forward.
