Default Reshells

I reshelled a frst into a deisel shell as the shell was mint and cheap.
Now the mot is due soon and do not know if they will test it cause of the log book
How do i go about changing what are the costs and is an engineers report needed
any numbers to phone to sort it would be great

Presumably you are using the reg number that came with the diesel shell.
If not, you are a very illegal ringer and will probably be taken off in the middle of the night, never to be heard from again.

Assuming you are using the correct numbers, why not just record a change of engine number and fuel type?

To go about it entirely correctly would mean an SVA and with parts from two used cars you will probably get a Q (if they still do them?) or be unable to register the car at all.

It's not illegal to reshell a car, but you can't pick and choose which identity/VIN/Reg Numbers you want to use.

There is a points system in place when using a NEW shell, but using secondhand parts should result in a Q plate though the last thread about this suggested that Qs had been abolished. Don't think we ever got a definitive answer on that, though.

I read it as he is using the log book of the diesel car but hasnt yet changed the engine and fuel type over.

No point guessing tho

I reckon he's using the plates/ID/vin plates from the FRST and the floor stamps are still the diesel.

I am doing it legit i would not drive a ringer all i wanted to know if it was simply a case of as someone said changing engine number and fuel type.
The reason i used a deisil shell is its mint and i already had it.
I would not even consider buying a ringer or buying parts from stolen vehicles having had several vehicles stolen.

I would have thought it would have to go on a Q plate as you have radically altered the original car
