Yeah we keep spiders, damn natives! Found a few white tails that just give a nasty bite but soon zap them with spray.
Snakes though, woah! Fark that! Red Belly blacks a plenty down the at the g/f's parents place. They even found a Tiger Snake once which will chase you and resides near water. That was very very scary hearing that!

dan,
Ive got two tarantulas mate, first one i brought 10 years ago, she is a full grown Mexican red kneed tarantula. I got her when she was a spiderling. The second is slightly more lairy, She is a full grown King Baboon. She is about 9 inches in diameter. when she feels threatened she rears up on her back legs and hisses, its the most frightening thing i have ever seen.
Starburst looks stunning BTW

Fair play if that's what your into. Lad I knew had a Mexican bird eating spider, it was fucking massive the tank was huge, and some kind of Tarantula. They used to shed there skin he kept the skins on his mantlepiece. They scared the shit out of me tbf.
The bit I don't get is you cant really interact with them, take them for a walk or pet them you know? Each to their own though.

Cool as fuck!!!
My other half would go absolutely fuhuuuuucking mental if she even thought she was sharing a room/house with one though. She spends 15 minutes every god-damned night pulling her bed out and checking the curtains and floors and stuff for spiders. Properly freaks her the fuck out.
Always makes me giggle though

i think they are really cool. something interesting to talk about.
however, if i EVER was to find that scuttling around or appearing in my house, I'd be straight out the window and land 5m onto the concrete below

The last time I saw a spider only a quarter the size of one of those was on the dash board of my XR2i after it had been parked in a garden for a couple of weeks. Driving down the road, I had caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye and dismissed it... when the hairy mother appeared on top of the dashboard I more or less froze... a sharp intake of breath indicated to my brother-in-law (even more petrified of spiders than I am) that there was something adrift.. when he spotted it, all hell broke loose in the car, never seen an XR2i on standard brakes stop so fast... with him shouting "f**k, f**k stop stop" and me shouting "get it out" he screamed at me what did I want him to do with it... I threw a packet of baby wipes at him, he flung the door of the car open and batted the spider out of the car. With the door firmly shut behind it and when I had regained my legs... we carried on home...

used to keep them when i was living with my ex.... We had 3 A Cobalt Blue - VERY aggressive couldn't be handled at all, A Pink toe - Soft as anything and would just sit on you and my personal Favorite a Mexican Red Knee - Had her off days but normally good as gold.... only bit me once but had nasy habbit of flinging abdomen hairs all over my hands
Not my spiders but pics for reference -
Cobalt blue -
Pink Toe -
Mexican Red Knee -
Along with these 3 we also had -
A 13ft Boa constrictor, 2 Bearded Dragons, 2 Uromatix lizards
unfortunatly when we split and I moved out i wasnt allowed the spiders in my new place Luckly a Mate took them in for me.

Would you want it to actually go to a good loving home, or are you happy for someone to come and collect it with the intention just to use purely to let loose in the office and see what happens?

Did it hurt much, ive never actually been bitten by one but TBH unless they are venomous most of them dont actually have anything more scarey looking in their mouth than a pet gerbil does?
