MK5 Transits with the 2.5 DI N/A Engine is always a good one. They go for a few hundred Quid on Flee Bay

or the beast in my sig, was towing an empty trailer with the tractor the other week and the tractor broke down, the nissan towed both the tractor and trailer home

BMW 325 TDS mate. 6 cylinders of muscle. Old but cheap and very powerful and will do mega miles and are pretty economical for the size of engine. Very smooth and quiet as well.

I don't see why not. A lot of people do M3 replicas with them, which is what I had, but you can get them in standard form and they're a standard looking BMW, but they're very refined for quite an old car.

sorry I meant would it be legal to tow a trailer with a track car on board, as im not not sure what the Bmw's towing limits are

Ah, not sure about that mate, I've not towed before. You can pick up old Range Rovers dirt cheap now as well so long as you don't mind the fuel costs.

i used to use sierra xr4x4 2.9i with no probs towing my saph cos 4x4 on trailer at 50-60mph
