Seen a Lotus Carlton parked in Halfords yesterday
popped into the local halfords super store yesterday to pick up a job application form for some weekend work 
and upon arriving ther was a gorgeous LC parked up so i went and had a look, bonnet was up etc and it was the real deal
looked VERY nice and clean
went into halfords and when i came out, it was still there
but this time with an AA van parked behind it
good old vauxhalls
looked gert lush tho

mate tescos/ikea/M&S all pay more than halfords pay there part time staff,,,, its another company who benifits raping people with a interest in there hobby and LOVE the " i work at ripspeed init" image and park there cars out side to talk ages to other chavs about what mods there gonna do ect

I very nearly bought an LC. What put me off was if i ever wanted to sell it i could be landed with it.They seem slow to sell. They are an awesome machine. I bought an escort cozz instead.

on the job front, the missus reckons ill get raped in the ass with the tax on a second income - i know sweet F/A about tax etc so im guessing a cash in hand job will be on the list lol
ps i also needed to but some stuff from halfords too, just thought id ask for a job on the off chance
aslo popped in to george white motorbike place, they are moving to a much bigger premisis soon so will be a few jobs going
i also popped to the local ford parts place - it was shut

when i got eh ay through though i was getting hit with a Ł70 deduction tax and stuff for each day (seperate pay slips etc so in essence, 3 jobs)
when questions about this it's because your "normal" job will get your tax stuff sorted
but if you get paid monthly and your tax brakect is, say, 4600, you get paid Ł383.22p a month before you have to pay tax on it
so the other stuff you earn will get taxed as if you are paying your full 25% tax on it
thats why he's going to get fucked in the ass with tax
if he's paid weekly it's still going to be the same even if he gets his other Ł paid monthly

Dan, you will have to pay 25% tax and 8% (iirc) on NI and thats it, no penality is present AT ALL for having two jobs and you will still be WAY WAY WAY below the cutover to 40% tax, it works out EXACTLY the same earning 2K in a second job as it would if you have a 2K payrise.

What Chip has said is correct. It makes no difference whether the extra income comes from a second job or your main one you will be taxed at your highest level.
Those levels are 10%, 22% and 40% (not 25%)
NI is a bit more complicated as its 11% of wages that fall between the primary threshold and upper earning limit but again, the fact its a second job has no bearing on the amount of tax paid.

People usually think they get screwed with second jobs as they won't have a P45 to hand in when they start so will more than likely and up on the Week/Month 1 tax code and pay over the odds.
Just have to claim it back and its sorted
