one big turbo has greater potential.
two small turbos has slightly less potential but much better driveability.
one small one big turbo is for the big boys that know what they are doing and should be left for the factory, hence it is removed for a single turbo setup because no-one but the pros know how to sort it out.

Remember seeing a twin turbo saff cossie for sale on auto traders web page about 8 month to a year ago some bit of kit was running 550 BHP i think.
