Apparently there is an indoor BMX park in Corby..... and there are guys who come from all around the South East to go there... many of which have been BMX'ing since the 80's....
All this talk makes me want one to relive my youth.... but I'll probably end up doing a night in Casualty.....

these are class compared to the new stuff
i used to race in the mid 80,s when a set of cranks, redline ,cost up to £300 then or skyway graphite rims @ £200 a set
and the bike in your sig,is it a haro,if so ask bob which he,d rather have old or new
heres a few classics
haro freestyler ,original
torker 280x,classic!
the original pk ripper, these babys are up to 2 grand a pice now,IF you can find one,the one pictured has redline flights on it i had one ,wish i still had it!
now take back what you said and go and stand in the corner

i done a bmx a few years ago and there was an old skool catergory where all the oldies came out for a race for old times. actually got to have a ride or a burner round the track, was proper good fun, i prefer todays bikes tho, i was riding a s&m next generation. everytime i cranked the burner i swear the whole bike flexed
great bike tho and good to see that its in excellent condition

anyone got a pic of the raleigh bomber
seem to remember wanting one when they came out but never got one.
i had a 2nd hand tomohawk, then a 2nd hand chopper which my dad painted, then my nan got me a new team murray bmx when they were just coming out in the uk.cool bike-chrome(or silver!),with black spoked wheels.
would have thought about 1980/81???
still got an atari2600-retro games phoenix, scramble, hyper olympics.

must of been a thing of the time getting secondhand bikes as my Tomahawk and Chopper were both secondhand, done up by my dad and given to me as xmas presents.
My chopper was modded with BIG super comfy orange mushroom grips. ....i used to be so cool with my brothers hand me down Green Mod jacket.

Where is the BMX Park in Corby ?
It's in an old chicken factory, I think it's right at the second round about when you get into corby (coming from the a47 way) and then right again into an industrial estate and then first right. Was there 2 weeks ago today for the first time. It's a good park and they have some crazy plans for it. Might be back there next Thursday again as I have the day off.

The bike in my sig is an S&M frame with alot of Limit parts (mates company) Bob Haro may well prefer an old school Haro but stick a new school rider on one and see how long the bike lasts!

I had a Haro just the same (circa '84) but mine had white tuff's with a coaster brake... same Haro bars as those without a stem!
Bob Haro was my hero..
Met him , Eddie Fiola and Mike Domingez at Romford skate park once......
Those were the days!

Well it seems you can put a price on your childhood memory.
My first BRANDNEW B.M.X . A RALEIGH ULTRA BURNER has just sold on E-BAY for £122. Ask my MOM how much it cost her in 1985 and it was £149.99.

I used to have one of these 2 years ago, I snapped the Landing Gear forks on it dropping off a bus shelter.
Nearly snapped my wrists too when I landed, Im 6ft 2" and was thereabouts 18.5 stone at the time.
I musta been mental to try that again, did it tho!!
