Yep heard this today and saw a bulletin on the news, another quality scheme devised up by the cunts in whitehall, all it means is working class people won't be able to drive and rich cunts will,
just means more working class will have to break the law to have some quality of life
polotricks, don't you just love it

I'd be totally screwed if this was brought in.
I travel a round trip of 40 miles every day, that would mean that in a week I would be have to spend £300. Total cost for the year (after taking off the 28 days holiday I get a year) would be £13,920
Surely they couldn't do that. I seriously wouldn't be able to work. If they put on a bus that would travel from County Durham to North Tyneside every day they sure I would use it but as it stands at the moment I would have to get a bus, then a metro and then another bus.
I deffo think that we should do as the French do. They wouldn't accept sommat like that. There are plenty of other ways that they could reduce congestion. Surely other countries have ways that we could adopt. Once again it's the poor people that would be targetted.

i dont know why us brits accept all the shit like this
in leicester i was shopping in tesco and couldnt understand what anyone was saying in the cue due to them all speaking foreign languages!
stupid goverment letting the leeching coonts in and then making schemes like this to pay for the freeloading tossers!
if it happens the goverment knows us soft idiots will just cough up the cash anyway

Well its only a suggestion. And one slated for 10 years from now.
However
I fear the government think we are all out in the rush hour driving around for fun though.
If they price people off the road (as this probably will) business' suffer as their staff dont commute to them. So I can't see the next govenment implimenting it.

it wouldn't be bad if the transport system was any good. I get the train to work most days and the lucky people that can actually get onto the train are crammed in up against the doors and actually seen a few people faint. Its a fucking disgrace and it costs a bloody fortune to use public transport.

There will be riots if it happens
and just think about it if they know where were driving they also know how fast we are going and on what speed limit the road is
Also Driving will be 1 more thing the rich will enjoy without worrying about the bill

the uk's road system only accounts for 25% or our CO2 output, our powerstations account for 40% but I dont see the goverment doing anything about that! it's all just another way to screw more bloody money out of us.

Not that I agree with the scheme, by a long long shot, but the £1.50 charge would only be for certain "always-congested" areas of motorway, and only in rush-hour. Pretty sure the lower-end of the scale was down to a few pence per mile...
Still a stupid scheme, and I hope it never comes to pass (since, of course, the government won't get rid of road-tax to bring it in), but just clearing that bit up...

What i think will happen is they will carry on scaring everyone to death with leaks of £1.50 a mile then at the last min drop it to 10p to 30p a mile
and everyone will go bloody hell thats handy i thought it was gonna be £1.50 a mile woo etc and then nobody will protest or moan just suffer it and the government know everyone will

Custom
and do you want to know something else if this goes ahead all cars will be tracked by satellite and will know how fast your going and if you break the speed limit you the regested keeper will get sent a speeding fine or points
i heard this from a friend who works in the crown court that if this happens its just the start of things to come

"No, officer, I can't have been doing 70.0005mph on Sunday 9th December 2017, because this tracker shows my car was parked neatly on my kitchen worktop all day"
Apparently, the GPS tracking devices will be mandatory on all cars and, of course, you have to pay the £200 cost to fit them...

Not too sure where i stand on this.
Im all for the people who do the most mileage paying the most money..i.e why should i pay the same road tax per year when i do about 8k as someone who does 50k up and down the country. So yeah, ya do more miles ya pay more money...BUT £1.50 a mile on top of fuel nah bit steep surely?
