How Happy Am I!!
Basically i left HM Revenue & Customs in June as the job really wasn't panning out how i hoped it would, especially as i hoped that it was going to be my career
So i resigned from that with a job on the class 2 tippers to goto as i managed to get my class 2 while at HMRC.Stayed there for a bit while i tried to get myself and my life into some sort of order, when a postion came up at a Co nearer to home and on better money - where i might add that i've just got Benn 304R a job at & he starts this Monday
So no more living out in the sticks for him as he's also moving in with me 
Back in the late summer my sister's fella mentions in passing some jobs that might be going, 1 points fitter & 4 Electrical fitters working for a Co called TubeLines. So my sister does all the paperwork for me, i only heard from them a week or so ago offering me a interview and my sister sent all the paperwork off back in September
Anyway.... I had the job interview on Tuesday..................... And I've been informed by my brother-in-law who also works for the Co where i'm going to be working has told me that i'm going to be offered the postion i went for
Apparently they were really impressed with my compentencies and the interviewer noted that i even came across as cocky!! Me?!
I got all the question correct about AC/DC voltages (good job they only asked me one's i already knew!!) I was so relivied, as its my first ever interview where its been compentency based. They also commented that i must have done a few interviews before to have done so well in this one - yeah like hell, i was shitting bricks!!So as from 8th January 2007 I will be a points fitter on the London Underground
Its permanent nights, Monday thru to Friday.
37 Days annual leave, Pension + all the other benefits..........
Full training in AC & DC electrics to NVQ standards, mechanical engineering & whatever else they put me in for
And a hard graft of 35 hours a week
Oh and the best salary package i have EVER had
I'm so over the moon its hard to discribe, i'm bloody chuffed to bits
No more bloody lorry driving 
I can't wait!!! Oh and did i say that i'm excited??

This year has been a shity one for both of us but is now on the up for us both!!!!!

congratulations, i used to work for metronet doin days and nights on central line, most nights we be finished at 2am and back to the mess room for a snooze, not bad for considering we only started at 11pm

Its permanent nights
nice one on the job, but, permanent nights!
i do a 5 week roster thing 11 days and 12 nights, the nights are the worst thing in the world, especialy the 2 friday nights
should have been working the last 3 nights, booked them off, only got 4nights to do in the whole of december1 yeay

Metronet are employing at a silly rate at the moment, 5 of our guys have managed to get jobs on there already, 10 week conversion courses etc and then onto permanant nights!
Paul, hope it works out well for you, dont think i could handl permanent nights but i know its a cushdy number on the underground and the pay is pretty good.
