Default Lee@Fusion - What a Legend! (Pics inside why!)

He prob wont see this and its a bit late but just wanted to say a massive thanks to Lee @ Fusion Fabrication for giving up his weekend to work on my new track project.... and for putting me up for the night in his own home!

Hes done a top job but I wouldn't expect anything less from him. Totaly custom made to my specifications and completed in very good time as well.

Heres some pics of the master peice...

And the beast............ (watch out Tim )

I've got some pukka harnesses ready to go in (again thanks to Lee as he welded plates to the floor pan for me to fix eye bolts into). But its taking shape now! Roll on track days in 2007!!
Thanks agian Lee (ps more than welcome to come down south for a REAL piss up )

But get them rear belt points up higher if you want 1 bit of advice.

They would currently fail if it was presented to a MSA Scruitineer

Minimum angle is 45 degrees backwards for safety

But as its a track day car you dont need to conform fully yet, so just take it as advice for now

I cannot wait mate! Still got a few bits and bobs to get for it but the theame is cheap and cheerfull lol. The engine runs really sweat so untill it dies I wont be replacing it, but yeah, Mi16 is the next step

Its hard to tell from the pic mate but they actually are mounted correctly. Those harnesses are fitted very losely and look like they are fixed at a very step angle, when infact they are not. Thanks for the advice though

Looks ace Dan, what you need now is someone with a spare Mi16 lump - handy I have 3 engines now! Plus 2 205s, plus 10 1.9GTi wheels with R888s and T1S on them!

I love my little Pug, will have fun racing you and my bro plus the rest of the 205 crew at the next track events!

You need some R888s to make the most of the sweet handling!

Have you done any brake mods yet?

Cheers Si!

I was thinking maybe slicks instead of R888s? what do you recon?

I'm on the look out for some 307 or Gti6 calipers... if you see any for sale let me know!

Also might look into dropping it 35mm all round as that seems to be what everyone uses on track.

Slicks for ultimate grip, but I personally would say no! Combe and Silverstone for example won't let you run slicks unless you have a race licence.

R888s work so well, plus you can drive too and from the track on them, plus enjoy better than average grip when you pushing it on the road.

Brake wise, I have 307 HDi calipers and discs - same as the 206 GTi 180 apparently. Either way I have a lot of pedal travel (soon to be sorted with a 405 Pug master cylinder), but the brakes work SUPERBLY well, fade free and effective.

On the back I have standard drums as mine is based around a 1.6 Gti, but seeing as the brakes work so well, I see no hurry to change them to anything else.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya - got loads of my bits from the local scrappy - my spare Pug 205 1.9 GTi was £250 whole, and my last Mi16 engine set me back £150, with loom, gear box and ECU. BARGAIN!!

Dont bother with the Mi16 lump.... get a GTI-6 engine instead

the oil surge problems aint there (well not nearly as bad)

i got a shed load of stuff goin on my 205 soon

rebuilt rear beam, solid mounts,
adjustable shocks, top mounts etc etc

EDIT: gti-6 brakes are Good, you will need braided lines made up though,
as the standard lines are a little too short on full lock
