Default Help with a Mondeo ST200 please !

Hi all, am after some help.

Have got a 2000 reg Mondeo st200 that has been great since i bought it. The last couple of days i havce noticed the idle has been a bit high, and yesterday it was all over the place, jumping to 3000rpm when its just sitting there with the clutch dipped. It is also doing it in between gear changes....when accelerating it pulls fine but as soon as the clutch dips the revs rise...

Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated...

I've had the same problem with mine serveral times. Jumped up to about 4500 rpm for a few seconds then settles back down. It's just a dirty conection on one of the engine bay wiring plugs/sockets. The snag is I've never been able to pin down which one it is.

Just plull ever plug apart you can find and clean the insides out evn if they look ok, that should clear it if you have the same snag as me.

If you look on one of the Mondeo forums and do a search for throttle hang, you'll find the fix. Something about a hose being too big and needs an insert.

Hi
go to the top link first and try the fix. cured the same problem on mine for the grand sum of 12p. if that dont cure it fully it could be the throttle position sensor. these are not available from ford as they only sell the throttle body complete, although you can have just the sensor sent over from the states for about Ł16 (bottom link)
