4x4 front diff plates?

Has anyone got any information about those 4x4 front diff strengthening plates you see on ebay? are they any good or a complete waste of time and money?

worth fitting to a car thats going be running 350-400 bhp? or is it still going to be diff smashing time if I attempt too many launches?
