my mates 2 year old snap-on box is starting to go rusty.
i'm happy with my toolbox and certianly won't be trading in for a snap-on box. i love those suzuki boxes above, just don't like the colour nor motor bikes much, if they don one in green/blue with ford or aston on the front then i may part-ex mine. Although, i don't reckon i need much more storage space yet.

Give it another year, then bung it to the Snap On man and let it have a refurb

The snap on bloke said cos they no longer do that particular model of tool box anymore his only option is to upgrade at cost of several hundred quid.
p.s., my stickers do look rubbish in that photo cos the protective coverings were still on then, but they deffo all line up spot on and paint finish is excellent as are the draw slides & welds, had it about six months so far.

Shame about your mates box. I'd ring another dealer and see if he is telling the truth. I would suspect the dealer is trying it on as Snap On rarely discontinue the tool boxes.

He's had it a while now. I'd recon on 12 to 18 months but the paint and sticker quality was bad from new. The issue with draw welds seperating was on a different model to be fair so your box may not suffer from that issue. His hasn't but one of the other lads has and subsequently had a replacement under warranty.
My MAC dealer has assured me that the higher end boxes (Tech 2000 or what ever thay call it) are a lot better built but he never has one on his van for me to look at.
I have a Snap On KRL and KRA series box and the KRL (high end) quality is fairly noticable from the KRA (low end).
Another thing I have issues with is MAC's lock and roll system with those clip in things at the back of the runners. My KRL uses the normal Snap On type lock and roll in the handle but my KRA had both the MAC and Snap On type. I took all the drawers out and binned the little rubber locks on the back of every runner.

Utter Utter shite, and probably wont hold their value anywhere near as much as the equivilent Snap. Theres a reason the Mac franchise is cheaper to buy

I gotta defend Mac boxes here, the Tech Series ones are built like tanks (my mate wanted to swap his new snap on box for my Mac Tech1000).
Maybe Mac of old but not anymore. I had an old snap on box that I had issues with and didnt want another.
Mac Vs Strap on
Fight Fight Fight
Although all me tools are snap on
