You gonna take him for a spin Martin?
I took mine for a ride in my old saff, also let him sit on my lap and steer it while I drove. He LOVED the boost lol
Just so he can tell his mum (my ex) that he has drove a quicker car than she has ever owned

Fairplay to him
I remember when i was about 14 i had trials for Cheltenham Town FC and got in after the first week, they offered me a 2 year contract but i quit after a year. It's fucking hard work getting up at 4 in the morning to get on the team coach to go to the likes of cardiff city/swansea/plymouth/middlesborough/tourqey. My dad went with me all the time to watch lol.
I quit after the first year though because it got too much, they give you fitness training programs, diet books, skills sheets etc... and my dad made me train EVERY day - used to get me over the park practicing everything.
So my word of advice is don't push him too hard (I don't know if your like my dad was or not but just saying lol) been there done that, wish i stayed on now because i know i would of made it, hopefully gonna get somewhere with my boxing now.
Anyway hopefully your lad gets somewhere all the best
