Good reliable company, been winning lots of awards in all the mags for years and best of all you get to talk to people from this country!!!

AWOOHOO

Last year I asked a Dell representive if a particular pc had a network card, to be told

"YES SIR, 56K modem very good"

I asked 4 times, he said the same thing 4 times, I put the phone down.

Not saying Dell are the worst company as the success story is phenominal and Mr Dell is a very rich man but I'd by one from Mesh as many friends and family have done who I've recommened.

Anyone else stopped building pc because they can't be arsed being tech support for whoever you sell it to for 10 years? I know I have

They make damn good rock solid PCs (laptops are pap though) but the people who man their phones are complete and utter gash. Thats why you order online

Thats a stupid thing to say, its like saying im not buying heinz beans from sainsburys, im buying them from Tesco. The products are the same.

A Compaq PC is just as reliable from PC World as its is from Compaq direct. The service differs from the people who sell it to you.

Topic starter, that pc you posted the link for is a decent spec system as are the others mentioned on this thread.

If that's all you're going to do with it, get one of these:

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/pr...hs1&l=en&s=dhs

£329 and plenty enough for anyone who's just browsing the net

No matter where you buy a Fujitsu-Siemens PC from, it's going to be right load of bab

I'd go for a Dell, or an HP Business Desktop

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en...-12386404.html

I install loads of these and they're rock solid, and unlike the dell's, you can upgrade them yourself when the time comes. Dell machines dont have any additional HDD bays or anything

The HP home stuff is still rubbish though, pavillion and compaq series etc

The prices on the website don't include monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers, etc...

Just thought it worth mentioning

Really, been running a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop for the past 15 months as my own with no issues at all.

I'd go for a Dell, or an HP Business Desktop

I would go with Dell, any HP I have dealt with have all had dodgy power supplies.

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en...-12386404.html

I have a Dell workstation at work that has been upgraded and added to in its original casing. It all depends on what casing you have. If its a SFF then no you cant, if its a regular desktop/tower then you can.
