Default Amal Valve & RS Turbo's How to Remove it ?

Fitted a -31 to the missus standard RS Turbo as her old one had gone soft and wasnt holding boost.

Now the -31 is almost out of adjustment but it still overboosts and as such the boost limit cuts in which makes it a pain in the ass to drive quickly.

Someone said if we removed the Amal valve this would stop the spike of boost and prevent it over boosting. It would just boost up to 8psi and hold it there.

Is it just a case of unplugging it, insulating the ends of the wires going to the Amal Valve and then by-passing it with boost pipe ?

Yes but it is there for a safety reason, have you checked the jetting in the amal valve?

-31 lift off pressure is 7psi. Thats the mimimum boost you can run. With the amal valve, this bleeds off more pressure, which is why you are hitting the boost limit.

Simply unplug it, and then all will be well.

My car was setup standard with 7psi boost, all was fine till one day it started hitting 11psi

amal valve etc all plugged in, std piping. .

ONLY things I can think of is, when fitting the turbo, I sat it on grass and the actuator dug into the dirt and filled the hole where the pipe goes on, Im sure I pushed it all in tho. . could this of blocked a pipe (so to make it run 7psi) then un-blocked it with the pressures and now its running more boost?
the thin hoses from amal valve-metering unit/turbo etc. . couple of them aint exactly tight fits with the original clips, done a couple (the ones I could get to easily) with small jubilee clips but still some that aint on tight.

or any other things that could make it run more boost? im pretty sure it's got a -31 but not 100%

think ive maybe answered my own question with the loose hoses tho
