Never played a BF game till wednesday when i bought it(after hearing everyone talking about it) seriously this is the best game ive played in years, its so much fun and funny at times(people who play will know what i mean)

Im getting there, havent had too much time to play but i think most the weekend ill be on this

By the way check out EA's site for the new patch out today, its to solve random crashings and server disconnects, amongst other things, but its a 500 odd MB download so ill be downloading it tomorrow when ive got time

oh right, im sure it would be because when you go on that page all you see is BF2142 in big text, and you'd think they would make it clear if it was BF2 only

To be honest though ive not had much grief from it in the 3 days ive been playing(after id downloaded the patch and punkbuster)

the patch wil be out nxt week hopefully

the amount of people ive kicked and banned off our server is unreal,

carnt stand people who need to cheat at the game to get noticed with there ranks



but ea have already wiped over 100 accounts and wil be going through everyones stats to see how they got there points as its all logged

so a lot of people will be starting again

lol I HATE BF2, slow, poor playing and crap vehicle handling , the original with the desert combat final mod is the best game ever, are there helicopters etc in 2142? I still like the first game the best to be honest, is it more like bf2 than 1942?

tottally different game all together

more like hover crafts that can fly lol

tanks 2 types 1 normal,1 floats very hard to use but packs a punch

apc similar but different

and the walker, carnt really explain this imagine the robot in robocop and enlarged a lot nice bit of kit once you get the hang of it

2 different modes normal flag capture or titan mode

titan mode is capture solos (same as flags except there missle launchers)

once shields are down on enemy titan you can board, you have to destroy 4 conolses before you can get to core

if ppl are defending the consoles its hard

once core is destroyed game over

the silos, the more your team has in control the quicker the shields go down as these attack the titans, and willcontinue attacking until titan is destroyed

best thing to do is get the beta test version and have agame and se how you like it

I like to use the single shot rifles on games, BF rifles are pants, to much spray and pray for me

the guns are too acurate,

at least in bf2 you have to learn how to use your guns best postions etc when and when not to shoot

When I have played BF its not when to shoot its when you get a chance to!
Im sure there are servers out there that aint all noobs running about but It just wasnt for me, The sniper rifles seemed very poor aswell
One thing I did like about BF2 was the Black/white screen bomb thing you get when your a passenger in helicopters

nite vision, grappling hooks, zip lines, flash grenades the lot

so much more tactical in that

Just a couple of questions i need answering, what exactly is autobalance and friendly fire?, and another one, does it take in to account where abouts you shoot people, for example is shooting someone in the head better than shooting them in the leg? when i kill people its normally too quick or im too far away to see where i shot them and i swear sometimes ive had a machine gun, im pretty close to the enemy and im pumping them full of lead it seems yet they manage to kill me first

yup BF counts headshots as double damage I do belive, most sniper rifles kill with 1 headshot or 2 body shots. Same applies to most weapons, ie double damage for head shots. Knife is normally instant kill.

Autobalance is to ensure teams don't get stacked too heavily one way or the other. Friendly fire determines if your rounds/explosions kill/hurt your own team mates

I'll believe that when I see it, I reported someone to EA that was an admin on a ranked server enforcing knife/pistol only in BF2 (against the EULA, supposedly punishable by both removing the ranked status from the server AND resetting user stats). They've done neither, the server is still ranked, and as you can see here, his stats are still plain to see (and it's quite bloody obvious he's been playing a LOT on a knife-only server - ie. his own server).

So, take anything EA promise to do with a pinch of salt, it's highly unlikely they'll stick to it...

imagine earning 700 points in 5 mins just hovering a chopper



think how many people have done that to get high in rank

there are loads of people in the leader with all the same rank

these will be wiped

XR4 i just had a similar experience, i was in a copter with about 4 people and it was just hovering above the enemys titan the whole time, and i couldnt do shit, if i jumped out and died id respawn in the bloody copter agian, we were losing and he was just getting about 10 points every 20 seconds or so

Where did you download yours from? sounds like you got a shitty download there mate uninstall, use a reg cleaner and then reinstall from the link i gave you, hope you got fast internet

By the way it confusing me how some people can say one version of BF is crap and another is the best game on the planet there both essentially BF arent they? there not TOTALLY different im sure(ive only played 2142)

im not a bag fan of 2142

i played it for the first few weeks and im not really interested no more... didnt have the same attraction of BF2 imho

you dont feel as connected to the action, the guns/veichles etc don't "feel" right

plus they made it overcomplicated for all the n00bs on publci servers...

titan maps are played wrong 99% of the time, and just end up being free for alls

it was a good CONCEPT, but EA forgot that the game's played by idiots

we are just doing things randomly tbh, as in sf there was always organised in what and how we would go about on each map and always win the game

hence why i mentioned rainbow 6 as the vid trailer looks the bolox of a game tbh, a lot more work involved to get the job done, as if you die game over lol

hated the way helicopters flew in BF2, like a big jelly and unresponsive. and the game just seemed so slow and boggy , in DC final the helos were hard to fly initially but well worth the practice time., BF2 is far too easy to fly them so people just fly around hovering over flags making loads of points I have tried to play it a few times and just hate it , was such a dissapiontment to me after how good desert combat final was. Just hope 2142 is a bit better and faster

Since playing 2142 ive never thought "this is abit slow", after all you cant always run out all guns blazing or you will get killed, simple you have to be steathly and tactical

Has anyone got any tips for using keyboard, as when i need to press "crouch" or "lay down" buttons i have to sometimes look at the keyboard because im pressing the wrong one and theres no time for fumbling around.
Im a very good typer so its not the fact i dont know where the keys are positioned
