is this an easy thing to do on a fourbie ?

No thte hardest think Matt, but then again its a Ford so nothing is easy

If its just to replace those split rubber boots, you can buy replacements than but a new tca.

ive got two new boots for them, how easy is it to swap these over lol ?

how do you know when the ball joint is knackered ?

If its just the boots your changing, thats easy. Do what me and Dave did to change your shaft. Knock the ball joint out of the hub & change the boot.

You no when the ball joint is fooked mate...it will move every which way easily.

get both sides of the car off the gorund first
pop the bottom ball joint (don't undo the torx bit, undo the nut)
if you can wobble the ball joint easily with your finger it's past it's best
if it's stiff then it's ok
putting a new tca on is a mix and match job, get yourself a ratchet strap to make life easy otherwise put half the arb bush on first, push the inner in and then put the outer abs bush back in again
