Thats mint Neil....are those 40's or 45's...just on doing a silvertop for a mate to to go into a sunbeam....the heads are lovely to port....getiing quite giddy now and i'm looking for a duratec to play with....

No, it's not ELE, I did enquire about buying it though and he wanted something like 20k for it! so this was the next best thing (in my price range!)

fire damage was very minor and was mainly to the engine loom, plug leads, injectors etc. plus a whole load of repolishing needed

Hi Mate

They are Dellorto 45's which is what you need on a 2.0 really, 40's work well on 1.8 & 1.6 and its running OMEX ignition only management.

The head on mine is ported and its running a pair of Kent Cams.

Needs a little more setting up but hoping to crack 185bhp shortly.

I just cant get used to revving it after the Cossie.... seems alien to go to 7000 all the time... but it loves it... and the gearbox is the nuts...

2.4 first gear...

the only thing thats a bit shit is 5th gear is straight cut and it whines like a bitch..

But hey ho... cant have everything.

Yes mate.... havent played with too much... but a Civic Type R got a shock a week or so ago... dont think he was expecting to see me in back window for as long as he did... but with a 4:1 diff modern cars can still get the edge once it gets over 110mph


Other road users dont expect it to be as quick as it is so they keep pulling out on me... and doing daft stuff thinking theyve got loads of time...

But theres nothing better than getting up behind someone and giving them the 'Death Bark'

Imagine hearing 'Baaaaaaarp Baaaaaarp Baaaaaaarp' behind you and then looking to see what all the noise is and its some bloke in an Anglia....

Not the best picture but it's a pretty impressive engine for a standard car. 1.6 that produces 160bhp. It's a 20 valve (5 per cylinder), individual throttle bodies, VVT, 8400 rpm rev limit.

Anything that knocks out 100bhp per litre in N/A standard form is a good lump.

i owned that car for over 8 years and never found out - it had a grahame goode grp a breather on it and was told it was to do with that - only other cars i've seen with that on were some oldish rally cross cossies.

new escort will be finished even better than the sapphire, just gotta figure out when i'm going to do it.
