OK bit of advice, me and stu just bought a house, so we are having to downsize the amount of cars we have, it currently stands at 5 and a half (track car) pmsl

So I am selling mine, and having the RS2000 (mk6) back...the thing is, it means either taking this or Stus esccos to the ring in April...now we ARENT taking the esccos, thats a fact from both of us!!!!!! as much as we would luv to!!!

But the 2k was mint around the ring last year apart from there just was not enough power...and it got quite tedious to drive....

SO is it possible to fit NOS to it, and if so what kind of power increase can we expect???

Well I dont know a lot about NOS, but I guess the answer is how long is a piece of string.

Some cars will be OK with 150 NOS others only 50.

Can you afford it to explode at the ring, ie getting it back home etc?

RS2k what are they 150bhp ish, why not sell it and get a good rst, u'll be looking at an extra 50bhp without the risk of NOS.

Just my tuppence...

me and a few mates are on about getting a shitbox 2i or summat and maybe nosing that,, but ot expecting to bring it back, so phone a local scrappers or summat lol

I need something cheap to run, reliable but not slow...and atm i cant afford to buy one, the best car we have between us is the 2k

The 2k got ragged all the way there and backand i mean redline in 5th at some points, and she did laps around the ring....you cant beat her for reliability, im sure a bit of NOS wont effect her that much unless we are using it all the time, which we wont be its for the ring only

lol and if we explaode it at the ring, we'll have recovery im sure someone wil tow it to a road for us

Providing the car is well maintained and you make sure things like the clutch and ignition are up too scratch you wont have any issues. I run a 50 shot without any problems, thanks to Chips top advice.

I killed a set of older coils and plugs at first, but since changing them its been brilliant.

Buy a 2i for Ł200, 150bhp NOS jets, fill it up of fuel and off u go, knowing its gonna be her last journey lol

You WILL enjoy ragging her then knowing u dont care if it dies

I fail to see how anything with 150bhp can be tedious to drive round the ring?
Personally I would take it again and learn to drive the circuit better....

Rich i didnt ask for your opinions on WHAT you think we need to do, I asked if it was possible to fit nos and how much EXTRA power we would get, so thanks for your input but it doesnt answer my question

strip the whole interior out of the 2k and that should help with the performance..
maybe better brakes? power aint everything on the track?

Brakes are cool, we had no probs with them at all last year....was just the bit extra power we want lol

Would be a far better and cheaper idea, gas is great for bursts of acceleration, just cant seeing it being a major advantage round the ring. Braking later and carrying more speed round the bends is gunno be far more advantageous.

nitrous for a track car will cost a fortune to run..its ok for the 1/4 or topspeed runs..if thats what your into if you want to go faster just take a more powerful car

More power is easily obtainable from the 2000, but it will cost you. Your talking headwork, cams, chip etc etc. Nothing for the 2000 is every cheap.

That what i'm getting at, chip+cams are really only going to get you 10ish bhp, maybe a shade more, thats around what Ł600? For not much gain.

I know NOS is effective in the 2K 50bhp gains are pretty easy, but i'm not sure how much it will help at the ring? Never been there, but it looks like a lot of long straights? Can you not only use nos in short bursts?

Seriously though, if you can drive on track, then you don't need more power. In fact, at the ring, with limited experience, the last thing you need is more power.

Nitrous is a ridiculous idea, as if it isn't empty by the time you get there, it will be by the time you've completed less than a lap!!

What the hell have you got 5 cars for though woman? Surely you just need the Escort Cosworth, and something German to fit in with the rest of your lot
