Fireforce 1 Jet Car accident at Pod tonight
Was at the Pod today for the Flame & Thunder Bonfire & Firework Event.
Various displays on the track and one of the regular attractions at the Pod was up to run the FireForce Jet Car
Something went wrong as it came off the line and the next instant it was a fire ball.
It was horrific to watch as the car came past as a fireball and rolled to a stand still mid track engulfed in flames.
The support guys were on hand in a very short space of time but it seemed like hours...... the driver got out the car and thankfully was unharmed.....

So relieved the driver was ok.
Cars fooked though.

Lots of Jet Cars have expired lately.
I'm sure that one of the other Fireforce car's got wrecked whilst doing a runway event in the rain earlier in the year?
Also, of course, there was the Vampire which got trashed at the (extremely lucky) hands of the Hamster.
Incredible pics though.

We were at the drag strip in the first week of Oct over here and a company were trialling a jet car. Was an awesome sight to see with a single jet engine strapped to a chassis. There was a little Japanese guy driving it.
He ran about 4 times at varying speeds, each time gradually increasing then on the Sunday (this was all on the Saturday), he was killed as it veered off like the hamsters did.
The whole club I went up with were devastated as this guy was wandering around our Jap cars with his mate during runs and admiring them.
We all have loads of pics too which makes it worse, very surreal.
At least the driver there got out OK.

Glad he was alive, but I'll bet he's still in hospital.
Big up to the emergency service crews, never thanked until needed
