The "standard" is one month, but check your contract, as there could be a specific clause in there to change that...

Depends on how often you are paid.... Paid monthly is usually one month's notice. Paid weekly is usually one week's notice.

Has it helped though?

I know one thing for sure. I'll never start another job without a contract in writing stating everything. I've been totally butt fucked with my current job over sick pay, holiday entitlement, etc ...A heavy lesson to be learnt! ..and too late to negoitiate afterwards!

Nath,

I see your point. I was just worried it would be longer than 1 month.

I will take your advice in the future though - Thanks.

Its proper shit mate even with a contract - I ended up arguing with the H/R depart of Mastercare and I had a contract I should have taken the course in dodging falling fridge freezers

after all the shit you will go through it will leave you hard to employ due to the claim your normally asked on the application form if you've ever claimed from an employer........

Cheers

Daniel

MAD YUM,

I would love to say as it is so radically different from what I have done or
what am doing now as it is the last thing anyone would guess.
Will explain one day but I cant risk others spoiling it for me at the moment.

Besides, the p*ss taking would be unbearable
