Default Airbag removal

Hi all, any one here know how to remove the standard airbag and bypass it when fitting a non airbag wheel . dont want the warning light to be showing on the dash

You need a resistor to put into the system.

BUT FFS dont try and measure the resistance on the airbag as you'll set it off

See if Ford will sell you a deactivation kit. I suspect they wont, so you may need to get them to do it.

BTW Airbag light on is NOT an MOT failure.

if i fit a resistor in there will it still enable the passenger and side airbags to work

Yes, the ECU for the Airbag will see the same reistance as the original airbag, so will just think the bag is still fitted. Which in turn will not affect any of the other airbags.

Like I say though this may be very difficult to get hold of, and when I say dont try and measure the resistance with a meter. I really mean it. It will 100% definetly set the bag off, which will be upside down of course, and will lauch itself at your head. Probably doing you a very serious injury.
