I have taken gearbox no.2 out of my 2wd saff tonight and its fucked inside somewhere. This supposedly rebuilt 1500 miles ago box lasted all of 10 miles before it shat itself when faced with my engine running greens standard turbo and 20 psi boost all through a motorcraft clutch. I wont name the member i bought it off as he could be innocent in all of this,but it has been about 4 months since i bought it for the croft track day and the car has sat unused since as i fell out with it big time,because it broke the night before,and i had to use my focus estate instead.
The box that was in the car originally was fine except that it would be nigh on impossible to get into 4th gear,so if i rebuild it,do i need a full rebuild kit at £200,or just a synchro kit at £125?
Anybody know?

i went for the full kit, as imo if you have it apart you may as well put new bearings in etc for the small extra cost.

good luck with removing the 5th driven gear - hope you have a good puller after that, very easy job

Ive got the same problem with my gearbox (wont go into 4th) That happened on National Day. My gearbox has done roughly 3k including Germany.

Speak to Marco or JC they can get the boxes sorted

Thanks for the replys chaps. Im fookin sick of the bastard thing,so its going into storage until next year,and if my 2i sells,my mondeo hire car will be going round oulton park next friday,see how many gti6's i can scalp! It goes well (130 tdci 6 speed),so i should do alright.
Sticky; i would like some brigsport stickers made up but dont have a design,any ideas? I want some fiesta st style sidestripes for my brothers mk2 escort,but with brigsport instead of st written on,can you help?
