I'll be at quite a few track days next year and 100% the Passionford one if it happens so no probs for a ride.
Hope to be racing it in the Time Attack series too if they decide to let us coffin dodgers in next year. Hopefully be enough to have our own class maybe as as much as I would like to beat some of the big boys in tin tops, its not really fair to put us against them.
This has gone a bit off topic now, but hopefully answered some of the ALS questions that were originally posed.

Ahh, cool. I thought that Duncan went along and annoyed a few people with some silly fast times in the DAX and there was a debate over it. They must have got it sorted then! Good.
Been talking to Rob at Time Attack and he seems fairly confident to have the class next year.
Hopefully will be taking part.

Porkie, no probs with a passenger ride anytime. You doing anymore track days this year? Im thinking of one more at Snetterton or Bedford in late Nov or early Dec but will leave it to see what the weather is like.
Im at that stage deciding wether to lay the car up for the winter and do some rebuild upgrading on the handling. Planning on wide tracking the front and just re bushing everything as its had a lot of use this year. Its a tough one as once I start its off the road til next year!!!!
There is also the idea of building a Rush Quadra over the winter too. Ive got a spare engine same spec as the Westy one in the garage that I could chuck in with a big GT series turbo and go the whole hog. Just not sure of what the standard 4x4 box and diffs would cope like in a light weight car?
Could still take one of the other cars tracking in Dec, but just hate the tyre/brakes bill associated with it!!!!!

Put me down for a passenger ride as well please mate!
Absolutely love my kit car stuff, having helped build a Dax Tojeiro, and having driven a green T34 Dax Rush as well.
Would love to go down this road sometime in the future.......

Back on to the topic of ALS, can anyone on here help me
I'm testing a new ALS 'product' for L8 but i'm short of an ALS valve...
can't afford to buy a mountune one as i only need it temporarily while i do the testing as i don't want ALS permanently
can anyone lend me one for a few weeks?
thought i would try, don't mind leaving a deposit on it....
cheers

incidentally porkie mentioned an r500 - my pal who does tracjk days with me gets annoyed intensly as he can drive better than me but cant get me on the straights and now i'm learning how to drive i find the rear r888's get slippy after a few laps but i can still out corner him as my front ones grip like sh*t to blanket. generally, as a member of the ne7ers club and doing track days with them they view a 4x4 rush with a tuned yb as 'abusing' thier mantra of performance by removing weight.

I've had the standard item in bits and they are toatlly unservicable once you seperate them....we can machine the M4 penetration to use the stainless bolt and modified valve but IMO they are still pretty useless....
The next way we were thinking was an electronically driven throttle....2 linear potentiometers and a stepper on the throttle, some how define different limits when the ALS was on to jack open the butterfly....just not had the time to get the bit together yet....

I just bought this one (Mountune version I believe), never seen one before.. I've heard people talking spring pretention etc Is there a spring inside the valve? as the top hat freely moves in and out on my one?

Mine moves freely like that too. Ive seen people put springs on them to aid the closing and also to get round the revving when starting.
Cant say Ive had any problems with mine sticking but it gets very little use compared to a normal road car I guess. I also whip it out every now and then and give it a clean. (The ALS valve that is).
Not sure if anyone has any views on this but I have found my ALS is less agressive since I fitted a Swedish inlet? Any crazy theories why?

Connect one set of contacts in place of original ALS switch (this will tell the ECU whether to enable ALS or not). Connect one set of contacts in line with the ALS valve by cutting one of the wires (doesn't matter which one) going to the ALS valve (so that it breaks the circuit to the valve).
Wire the one coil terminal of the relay though the chosen ALS switch to 12v, connect the other coil terminal to chassis.
Method of operation:
When the ALS switch is off, the relay is un-energised therefor the valve has no power and the signal to the ECU disables ALS. When the ALS switch is on, the relay energises and connects the valve to power (via one set of contacts) and at the same time signals the ECU to enable the ALS.

Cheers Mike Which is the als switch pin on the ECU?
Have I got to send this loom off to Ryan again
Also Harvey told me the 12 pot boost switch won't work now.. but will it work with the ALS switched off?

I did not know it worked like that, I thought that the four injector ALS board just didn't support 12 position boost control .
