Proper legend, this is to say goodbye and thank you for some of the best motor racing we'll ever see in our time!
Regardless of the things he done in the past he IS the best and will not be bettered for some years to come!
A true great with such passion for his chosen sport and career, the drive to win in the guy is just simply jaw dropping, today is a prime example of that!
We can all learn something from him!
DO NOT slag him off on this thread please, I don't care what you think, this is for the lovers not the haters!

Greatest driver of all time imo who else would have done a drive like that 2day from 70 seconds down to finish 4th, he will be missed coz there aint nobody else left in F1 with the passion he had, good bye Schumi you will definitely be missed

Just a shame that the other "hotshots" have all fallen off. Where's Ralf? You never see him anymore. Same with Barrachello(sp), Button (he did USED to be up front giving it to the big boys), Coulthard never seems to get the opportunity to take up a challenge (last time he won a race?) etc....
Yeah shame Michael's out - end of an era for one of racing's most talented drivers - but that doesn't mean F1 will be less interesting.... It wasn't as if Michael was unpredictable anyway was it? He wasn't an edge of your seat driver, taking risks and passing everywhere - he didn't need to as he was usually top of the field anyway!

His win at all cost attitiude mean you love him or hate him, I think those that love him have a similar attitude, I know I do, if its competitive then I play to win and win only, regardless of tactics.
Thing is with MS is that he has/had the skill to back it up, nobody could come out and say "he only wins all the time because he drives dodgy" because they would get shot to shit because the guy was so obviously the greatest talent of all time, thats the long and short of it.
He combined frightening talent with a huge amount of will to win, thats why he was so succesful, I can honestly say I never once saw him anything other then exstatic with every victory, they'll never be another, and I'm chuffed to fuck I was around to see all of his career.
Great loss to the sport, wont be the same watching it now, I'm not keen on alonso, massa looks good and has come on leaps and bounds since the begining of the season, good luck to him

i think the fastest lap on a FULL tank of fuel sums his ability up somewhat, utterly sensational when he went for it! his pass over kimi into that bend was brilliant!what a race he had,i reckon his best ever, only stopped by bad luck!
Quite simply the best driver ever.
The mad dedication and UTTER desire to win of Ayrton combined with the calculating thoughts and strategic uber brain of Alain Prost. What an amazing combination.
Watching F1 quite simply wont be the same for me ever again.

Probably the last proper world champ as well, wasnt the benetton an old conventional setup, IE, clutch, stick shift gearbox and full slicks? not like these nearly full auto, gadget infested, auto pilot cars of today. they may be quicker but I'll put diamonds on the older ones requiring more talent to drive, more so with the benetton as nobody else driving it got a sniff of a win did they?
a lot of people said alonso would walk away with the title, but it was about halfway through the season that they were stopped from using them dodgy things they had on their cars, and thats when the rest of teh pack caught up
fair play to renault for tring some trickery, but they were never going to be as far ahead as ferarri were when they all came togehter, michel being the glue that united one team into what is possibly the most dominate team in motorsport over the past years
and what a legendary drive it was at th end

a sad day but everyone has to leave at some point.by far the best f1 driver going he was the true race driver,if you cut him he would bleed race fuel.words cant describe the mans pure talent and unchallenged drive.i dont think fernado would have managed a come back like that! he wouldve tried a bit but thought its too much! goodbye micheal and thanks for giving me a real driver to support for 15years after senna died! roll on massa he's my next to support.

I'm not a huge fan of his but his drive today jsut summed the man up. He came from 10th to 5th in a few laps then was last and ripped through the field to finish 4th !!!!!!!!!!! Thats one hell of a drive and in a way made a finer drive than if he'd won from 10th. He never gives up and gives it 100%. Love him or hate him he'll be sorely missed.
outstanding driver.. Alonso is the young pretender.
he will win nothing but an egg cup next year.
i am putting money on Raikonnen to win the championship too.
The drive yesterday, he would of pissed all over everyone! he was that fast he would've lapped pretty much everyone..

was a great driver, defo f1 will be duller without him takin out opponents, for me thats all part of racing...
dont think he was the best, yes he beat all the records but he also had a lot more of a safer sport than the likes of jackie stewart/stirling moss etc.... back in the day so its hard to compare...
defo one of the greats tho, will be missed

Noone will shadow his achievements in F1 and yeah he is the greatest ever it isnt exactly black and white cos technology has moved on but I think it was shown from very early in his career what he could do, shame that Senna wasnt around for longer as that could have been really interesting racing.
Shame to see him go but we can only ever be greatful for what he did for the sport and good luck to him in future.
