Not 'dated' Old Skool

If you get a nice low miler mate then you'll do well, my mate had one on 17's and the full kit and tbh it was horrid to drive, they should be like a nippy little go-kart, get some of these on one and they look stunning!

Think they are 120bhp standard on a T2, easy to tune but do it right and don't blow it up! lol

Got my Ex to buy one, was great fun even if it was a bit flimsy, exhaust, filter, and a bar of boost will see about 165bhp mate, u would want some decent jubi clips on the hoses tho, always used to pop the top hose mid race
Was cheap as fook to run all the time we had it, did bout 20 runs one Sun down the pod, never broke it!

that must be the mid engine v6 model which is fast as fuck!

ps I'd prefer an Uno turbo than a r5gt

i think they are a nice car
look
but not 100% struck on the interour
the raider is the nicer one comes with blue carpet also
stupid vac pipes every wear though
clutch's are a pain to do ( engine out )
one problem they do suffer from is when warm and you go to start them there is a small fan on the o/s/f inner wing that blows clod air onto the base of the carb to stop the fuel vapourising , so it will start ok .
these fans stop working thus bad starting when warm !!!!

GT Turbos are the bollocks IF you know how to look after them. And IF you cut throught the bullshit rumour about them blowing up all time. They will blow up, but only if you dont know how to tune or look after em.

there was never a mid engined V6.

the mid engine ones were 1.4 turbo as well.

same block, crossflow head, fuel injection, weapon.

One big problem I had with both of mine was the headgasket, not too hard a job to do but a pain none the less.

Clutches as well, engine out jobbie...

very cool, barring base model front grille.

he REALLY neds to fit a ex manifold heat shield too, without that the inlet manifold will get red hot, ruining power and any intercooling effect, not to mention evaporating the fuel before it even gets into the engine.

Not much room to play with in that bay. I got told there easy to tune, but also easy to blow up.

mega easy to work on, IF you know what is what.

strong as fuck, stock bottomend, manifolds, etc etc can do well over 200bhp, stock crank and rods good for well over 250bhp.

mega strong engine with lots of failiures as tuners and owners have no idea how to tune and look after them

I had two and all this bollocks about they blow up and overheat gets on my tits mine never blew up, never overheated and never needed a headgasket. i did go through a couple of driveshafts though. theyre the same as any other car, look after them and they wont give you a problem

Monacos came with a beigey sort of leather, a few people fitted them to 5 turbos (god knows why theyre awful)

i love R5 turbos....

had one a while ago, nice tidy h reg....
sold the car over 150 miles away,...then a year later it turns up again about 3 minustes away

wanted to buy it back, but didnt have the room or time really....

had it 18 months, and it got raped....never missed a beat...
blew top hose once, but thats it,...oh, and accelerator cabloe snapped while over taking the "rarest" grey series 1 down garstang road....pmsl....

we waved at him, then started to go backwards...

fooking great fun cars,....
only prob i had to do with tuning it was undoing the actuator bolts.....had to chop a 10 mm in half to be able to turn it

your rite there pal and here's my old one, i bought it from cardiff and on the way back home made a de-tour to demon tweeks and splashed on a set of ronels brilliant little cars if you can get over the horrible build quility, and useless heaters lol had an amazing amount of money spent on this little motor, but good it usest to move!!!!
