Orange? LOL!

Yes mate i love all Mk3 escorts tbh. Series ones are one of the best cars fords made imo. I like rs1.6i's and XR's. I always as a kid looked at every mk3 xr3 i saw and thought id have one! Looks like i may be getting one to restore!
Everyone restores RS's, i want to be different!

JAY. I really DO NOT want a cossie. If i was spending cossie money it wouldnt be on a cossie

why spend the money on a xr3i though Lee.

surley worth while doing a series 1 turbo if you are going to restore one, probably cost a bit more but when you go to sell it it will be worth more and be better to sell.

imo.

Why spend money on any car Dave? Why spend money on a series one? Basicaly the same car!
There are still LOADS of rst's on the road. They are NOT really rare. Xr3's are very rare...mk3s especially. If no one restores em, they wont be any left. Like mk1/2 escorts.

I have though long and hard over which car id like to restore. Looked at mk1 and 2's but they are before my time and i dont really bond with them because of that. Whereas mk3's are my era sort of thing,,,what i grew up around and loved to look at....and it was XR3;s that i loved. Yes i agree RST s1s are the bolox i love em...but as i say ill get as much pleasure restoring a XR3 as i would a S1, but the XR is rarer Money is not the issue

exaclty. Where are they. When i was 16 i did a mk3 3i rep as my first car and i could just go the local breakers and get ANY part i wanted piss easy...choice of loads. Now there are virtually non existent...all the more reason to keep some alive. Love em or hate em they are and were a big 80's icon

Sadly mine was lost to rot around 1994, I knew things were getting bad when I backed into a field gateway/verge and my mate in the back said "I just felt the floor move up under my feet"

my XR3i wasnt caspian blue, it was a one off Fiat punto sporting blue crossed with a few different paint codes/mixes and we came up with this colour........

disapointed at first but then it totally suited the car and when we finished building the body up it had a look of madness about it! Matched the noise of the engine when opened the carbs right up and revved right round to 8000rpm <<<<sounded very very angry when on full chat *devil horns smilie*
