Default Brilliant! My bottom ends gone

Yesterday me bottom end let go only 4000 miles after a rebuild on my series 2

Got a good price of £600 for another rebuild. Then sourced.........

a 1.7 low comp, lightened, balance knife cut crank, oversize pistons bottom end for £250

Hopefully get it done for TRAX

Just be sure that what you are told has been done to the engine actually has been. Also, why is it being sold?? £250 sounds like a pretty good price, I would be a little suspicious.

£250 is cheap if its a good engine, but very expensive if it isn't........

Well the fact its quoted as 1700 is bullshit. The largest 1600 derivative is 1660 when using 1.5mmO/S pistons but these are only available from accralite and cosworth, which won't be in a £250 engine.

Be carefull, there's no such thing as a bargain!

I know how you feel mate, had a few engines let go over the years, 99% of the time though it works out better in the end, so Good luck,
