The best incar camera?
I was looking to buy a camera to video all my hillclimbs.
The Sony range looks pretty good, not too expensive. (please don't suggest the broadcast quality cam at £1200)
Anyone else done this, what were the results.
ps. I have used a normal camera to do this in the past and it was ok, but I would like better results.

Have a look in gallery section and look for Heemans videos, he used his normal digi cam and mounted it inside the headlight, very good quality and worked well, go have a look and pm him

I just use my Cannon Mv750i and a B-Hague roll cage mount
The quality has been lost as I sacrificed some quality for the sakes of upload times

i would strongly advise getting one that has an input for video and audio so that you can use a bulletcam. they give a much better impression of speed as they have a choice of lenses and can be mounted in many places easily (bumper, rear bumper, wheelarch etc).

Hi ForiegnRS.
I was looking at the Sony 21CWSHR, High Res super HAD CCW bullit cam.
Have you used a camera like this or seen video examples? Lens, probably between 4.3 and 6mm.
I looked at some videos on the web and surprisingly they didn't look so good, maybe its my crappy 17" monitor?
cheers

hi kenny
i can't remember what my bullet cam is exactly, but it has the same resolution as a normal PAL TV (640 x 480 or whatever it is). as long as you view it on a tv, the quality is as good as it gets. but if you put it on a monitor that has a resolution that is higher than that and you scale it up, then of course you will get pixelation.
but you don't need a higher res. than that really, as the storage space needed for those uncompressed video files is pretty big - certainly too big to transmit over the 'net at the moment (hence why most 'net video's will be .mpg format or whatever where you have a loss of quality).
i also can't remember what lenses i got, but those numbers sound familiar. get a couple of different ones, as they aren't very expensive and you can experiment with what looks best (widest, or fastest or whatever).
i would also recomend getting several lens covers, as they tend to get stone chipped quite easily.
