The funny thing was I never saw it or even had an idea of the design before I had it done. I am useless at art/drawing and couldn't think of any designs or even find anything apealing in the tattoo mags. Whilst visiting Surfers Paradise I dropped into skinfx tattoos and spoke to a tattooist who is amongst the best in Australia (seen a lot of his work and it was awersome)
I told him what I wanted and he did it all freehand, no drawing to work from, just made it up as he went along.
The first sitting took 3 hours for all the black/grey and I went back a few months later and had the torn flesh added to it which took another 1.5 hours. He works VERY fast!

when i got mine done my mate got a tattoo of his 2 kids on his shoulder, fucking A4 size and then he got a tattoo of his cousin on bottom side of his back
gonna get a image of my little girl added to my forearm under her name near the elbow when i get time

Dont say it hurts on ribs m8..Im havin a complete sitting of 7 hrs on the 30th of this month.

that reminds me of some of the art work on the H.R.GIGER site hes the bloke who Designed the ALIEN ..in the film ...his work is very strange to say the least .....
