I remember that, wasnt there that week but i remember everyone talking about it.

Used to be pretty mint back then for a good evening out racing, never saw all the real chavvy driving people are talking about in this thread though, but i guess they took a minority and made them look like that was what everyone was like, which was exactly what we all expected anyway!

 

Yea init chip, used 2 be good back in the day, meet up in the high street and have long chats then pop down the mile for a while. Half the time used 2 go back to the high street till silly o'clock But then unfortunatly it was posted on loads of forums and word got out and it was out of control and inevitably it killed itself off.

As u say thou was never origianlly like they made out, same goes for guildford!!! used 2 be good and no problems till the police/landowners kicked everyone onto the roads and then all u got was racing and dangerous driving.

Shame as it used 2 be a part of our weekly routine, sutton on a thurs, chelsea fri, then some random cruise and southers after on a sat, then guildford sunday.

Yep sutton on a thursday for a good couple of years was like a religion to me, lol

Some really good fun racing up and down there in my little turbo nova and before that the TB'd one wasting all the jap boys then telling them it was a "1.2 with a peco exhaust init" when asked what engine was in it

Then all the young tossers started turning up and the moped crew etc and before you know it instead of just decent races its full of people being tossers

The bit I didn't like was the bloke who's daughter was killed by a so-called "boy-racer" after crashing a scooby and killing the girl: eventually after driving her to his house as he was afraid of getting arrested of.....driving whilst banned. The dad blamed it on the boy-racer culture...I blame it on the cock-end who decided to drive whilst banned..and partly blame her for being stupid enough to get in the car with him knowing he was banned & drove like a dick.

But again: People are too keen ot jump on the "Speed Kills" band-wagon. Speed MAY be a contributing factor..but the main fault in most accidents imo is BAD or INAPPROPRIATE DRIVING

Was there 2 saffs. A Moonstone and a Black one at the mile? If so, that footage is ages old. I have it on tape somewhere.

Also featured in that programme was a current PF user who drove a white saff for several years with NO insurance. Finished off with a shot of him donutting in a Makro car park.

Cant comment on claims of wether or not he was insured though, ive never asked to see his insurance certificate TBH, and i wouldnt want to comment on secondhand rumours.

I know he wasnt fully comp as when his cossie got nicked he got no payout, but thats hardly proof it wasnt insured at all, so my be best to keep allegations like that off the board (wether you believe it true or not)
