Default range rover suspension

had a look at a range rover p38 diesel and the front air susp wasnt workin.

any ideas of reasons, costs

knackered leaky air bags?, about £60 each,not sure what else is needed and whats involved, im not expert, was just info i read when looking at getting one, then decided it was a very very bad idea

This was one of th ehuge list of faults I was warned about when I was thinking of buying a Range Rover earlier this year. I went off the idea

yeah they got a lot of faults, usually its the air susp or engines but fuck it i want to waste my money fixing something other than a ford

p38? thats the 95-onwards one ain't it?

It'll probably be a air bag spring gone as said, but check over the pipework first

No , not always a problem , dont get hysterical ! these are fine cars and need a few quid to keep them going like all good motors , the EAS faults aren't usually bags , theyre more commonly a sensor fault or in extremes a compressor , i had one for Donkeys years and when the comp went wrong i fitted a new one for £250 and it was fine afterwards .You will need a Land rover agent to plug his computer gizmo in and "clear the fault " tho , about £30 , no dramas really !

you can get springs and dampers for theses now- lot less to go wrong

Agree Normal is the compressor i sold a new one on Ebay some time ago i cant rember whot i sold it for i had a load os new bits as a job lot i brought for Landrovers

Can get any thing any more tho so cant help I love the shape of the P38 As said i belive you can Convert them back to sprins and shocks like the older ones (worth looking into ) Also i no nothing about the Diesels im a V8 man My Discovery has a late 3.9 I have removed the middle box sounds LOVELY
