Looks fucking gorgeous.

Cant wait to see the specs on weight etc

I assume its a V6 like the 350z not an RB26 this time?
(based on how soon the bonnet turns down at the front, and the amount of clearance required by law for the bonnet relative to the engine for when people headbutt it)

Personally i would sooner have a V6 anyway than a nasty heavy old iron block straight six that sits too much weight too far forward.

Dont get me wrong, i'm aware what a tuning legend the RB26 motor is, but still i think its time to move on and providing the V6 block is strong and the head is similarly well designed, im sure stupid power will be got from this one too anyway!

V6 is ok, but not a patch on the RB26. Its not a mega heavy block anyhow TBH.

How long till someone with super blinkers come on and claims theyd rather have their RS Turbo and its more fun too, torquesteer man, awesome

Not just the weight, but where it sits, im positive that this car will be more nimble as the result of ditching that old boat anchor of a block

What compression ratio is it? Is it twin turbo?

If its 12:1 N/A the GTR owners will all consider it ripe for a GT42R transplant on standard internals no doubt

30psi+ too.

Anyone who says otherwise is stuck in the past

And no need to explain why either, never ever

Saw this on pistonheads earlier today, not particularly keen on it tbh!

They said it's meant to hit 60mph in under 4sec and romp on to 180mph though!

IIRC thas been kinda scrapped, it doesnt apply to a lot of cars anyhow, the more "specialised" ones not many folk have heard of.

And even if they do claim 280, it wont be, the R34GTR was around 330 for example.

I know they ignore it on small number runs, like the nismo400 or whatever it was called, but i didnt realise they had binned it altogether, thats good news then

dont think they have scrapped it as such, just was always a general "agreement" that you could ignore if you wanted to with to bad effects, and in this day n age they realise 280bhp limit is a bit silly.

Not a Skyline anymore, just branded GT-R. It will have around 420 bhp (but needs more), they no longer bother with the 276 bhp agreement.

Twin turbo VQ35 apparently.

Chip a stright 6 will always be a better engine than a v6!

Sadly the old one can't pass even easy emissions tests (hences its exclusion from the USA). So it had to have a new power plant.

Better in what way alex?

500bhp would be more than enough to make that into a complete monster around the nurburgring, i genuinely wouldnt want any more power than that for a handling car, so while i agree that the straight six is awesome for drag racing, i dont think it is a match for the lighter and shorter v6 for handling, as the v6 will still easily be tunable to the sort of power level i would want, so to me there would be no value in having a load of extra weight on the nose just to earn me some power potential i wouldnt exploit anyway in that sort of car.

V6s are shite for vibration and smoothness (hence limiting their ability to rev).

A stright 6 has near perfect natural balance!

Ever seen a 6 with balancer shafts?

you are missing my point though alex, that v6 will smoothly and reliably make 500bhp if correctly specced, so while ultimately a straight six is better as an engine, its not better when you have to put it in a car with all that extra weight so far forward cause its a foot longer nearly.

Seriously though, Look at which ones handle well though.
E30 M3 for example. BMW put a 4 cylinder in for all the reasons im raving about a v6
