Default QUICK Question!

I'm needing to give a deposit on a new car in a private sale, the car is in London and I'm in Aberdeen, I'm also about to go on holiday and won't be able to get the car for another 3 weeks.
He has said that he will keep the car etc and seems a decent guy on the phone etc but what is the best most secure way to leave a deposit with him so he can't turn round and deny ever getting the deposit or worse sell the car???

should I just ask him to send me copies of his driving licience and get him to send a reciept??

oh and it's advertised through pistonheads.

the bank won't accept any liability or give out any details if it went sour!

Paypal would help themselfs to a chunk!

when do you leave for your hols?

if its not 7am tomorrow morning i would be inclined to get you rdraft sorted, catch a flight down & buy it.
Drive home and the deal is done.
3 weeks is too long IMO

if i was the seller i wouldnt take your depo Then wait that long to close the deal

have you seen it ???
