Why are you only guessing? If he was your your mate, surely he'd have told you exactly what happened
i use the term 'mate' all the time. To clear things up, its just a kid i used to work with....

I bought the bike, and when polishing and shit little things stood out and i thought this has been in a slide.. So, not wanting to put on my add ''i think its been in a slide'' and put i knew it had....Why i dont know

ANYWAYS..

Talked it over with Lindsay, and im giving him his money back. Im too nice and honest to not do....

if a company sold a death trap they would be done for it,,, the only reason why private people get off it is cause theres less chance of getting the money back as if you own a business you tend to have a few k sitting about for kipper periods

I think you've made the right decision Lee, you weren't entirely truthful on the eBay ad..... Fair play to you being a true gent

Only agree to pay the money back AFTER you have checked that the bike hasn't incurred any damage during the time the bloke has owned it..... make that a proviso when you contact him and if there is..... reduce the refund accordingly.

what i would do is ask him for a written report from who ever said the frame was bent etc or get the aa / rac to inspect it then if they say the bike is unsafe then you can decide whether to give him his money back

Mate i would tell him he can have a refund if he provides you with an independent engineers report saying that it has a bent frame...

Other then that tell him to go take a funny run. He aint got a leg to stand on...

And as said who to say he aint bined it himself painted the faring and now wants a refund.......

Be careful he aint pulling a fast one.........

ok mayb b19bal is rite about what i said, however reading the other post, he sold it 2 weeks ago, so why would the buyer wait this long? i maybe wrong and the bike may have been bent when sold but if lee accepts that it was bent before it was sold then fairplay.

dave he will sell it as spare or repairs
But according to the logic of some people who have replied he will have to have all parts tested and certified o.k for use on a performance bike BEFORE he can safely sell without ANY risk of comeback.

Let the buyer beware covers the whole situation.

Make sure you check that the damage is as he states..and wasn't within the time he's owned it...two weeks is a longish time really in this sort of instance..(esp if his dad's been riding 30 years..wouldn't you spot it?) ask for an independant engineers report as said..if he's an honest bloke he won't mind getting the report done...

Good on you for being honest/offering a refund
Just make sure everything fits before you hand over any cash..

Assuming it's all in good nick and that's far from a comprehensive list and I'm not to hot on GSXR prices as I've been out the trade a while but that little lot is £2975-3225 at least and that's not counting all the crap you'd be left with that adds the odd 5, 10, 20 quid here and there (rear light, passenger pegs, mudguard, switchgear, indicators etc etc etc)

Might be best selling the bodywork/tank as one due to the paint scheme tho.

It's just the hassle of a million ebay auctions/trips to the post office

I'd have told him to break it himself personally

Well done for being a fair and honest chap, when I bought my first escort, I asked many standard questions like 'has the car been in an accident' and 'why doesn't the temparature gauge work'. I was met with no its a mint motor and the temp gauge just needs a new sender so I parted with my £950 (*not lots of money but I dont earn much so alot to me).

2 weeks later it all became clear that it had been in unregistered accident and wasnt even roadworthy, bits missing out of the engine etc. Another £900 quid later I now have a good runner that is reliable so im happy, but it cost me £900 more than I had the intention of paying in the first place!.

I wouldn't have gone back to the guy because he was big, wore gold chains, and was sniffing alot when he was describing the car and I suspect that his response would be : 'fuck off mate, sold as seen' however, its nice to see that there are some honest blokes about.

Doesn't look too bad for you anyway bearing in mind the amount you should pick up for breaking it.

Cheers for the input again chaps..

The bike will be getting a proper inspection before i give him the money back dont worry lol...but, i think id tell if he has damaged it....he only picked it up on wednesday so i dont think hes even rode it ...

Spoke to him today and im gonna ring DVLA and see what happens with log book...only sent it off saturday

At the end of the day, NO i didnt know it was damged more than i suspected, and it is bought as seen, but im not desperate enough to argue over 2800 pound and leave the young lad with a bike thats his first bike and was excited about it with something hes not happy with and his dad concerend etc etc. I

Im MIGHTY pissed off that its got worse damage than i thought, Im MIGHTY pissed off ive got to fook about with it all and give money back, but ill sleep better

its only money guys
