Avon raceway (shakespear) info needed please.
As i'm planning on going there tomorrow to run my xr2tt,
i was wondering how far in time/miles from the M25??
Also what time the gates open tomorrow, and what time signing on for the track starts?
i've got alot todo today to get it ready. but gonna give it a go.
Cheers

Just go on Michelinmap / AA route finder and just type in your address and Stratford on Avon and it'll give you a rough distance.
Check the weather forecast before you go, as it started raining when we were there and they closed the strip even before it really got going. Long way to go if you can't do nowt!
Gates open at 9 I think, but deffo open at 10.

Just got back.
@ 5.20 i left my house, and after 3 hours and 215miles We were at avon.
But it Rained, and rained, So Shakespear called it off before any one had run.
And just got home and un packed, So all in all i spent £85 on fuel, food etc ect, for a waste of a day.
But got speaking to a Bloke called Carl, who had a mint F reg XR2 in red, which he's owned from new, it was running 2.0 PE cvh on Bike carbs, he said it was rolling roaded @ 182bhp, but he's best time it run yesterday was a 15.9 @ 89mph on Budget tyres, but to me 89mph shows 140-150 bhp.
Will get some pic's up, But also he said he won a PF mag xr2 shoot out in 1997, running same engine but on a 34 dmtr carb, with a 15.3 1/4.
Also looked around, and spoke to a bloke with a 8.9 second road legal mk2 escort drag car running between 1200 - 1400 bhp yank style engine and nos. (it run 8.9 on old spec engine which was 1100bhp).

Went Avon yesterday.
and apart from the extra 30mins travel and miles, i prefere Avon to the pod.
The strip and timing gear are the same for grip and times.
But the que's are less, and faster moving,
And best of all, from the que i could see all the cars running, where is at the pod you cant.
i run 13.6 @ 100mph, which is my PB to date in the xr2tt.
