Default GRRR Hesitancy problem BACK AGAIN!!!

Just been out for a blast and its there! I turned the boost down and it went. Now its back. BUT...im on just over the red on the fuel. I thought id run it down as ive heard of cars that are hardly used getting condensation in tanks then they break down inside???????

Could this be my prob starving me of fuel on boost?

YEAH i know get a set up...but i dont wanna go all way to Karl or stu for a set up if ive got a fooked tank or sommat

What ya reckon?

what exactly is happenin?

if the cars low on fuel it'll splutter like a fooker on hard acceleration.almost sounds like its misfirin.

if it aint that and its hesitating like as in foot down got boost then nxt mo u got what feels like none?thats a problem i had and it was the turbo to ic hose collapsing.didnt happen all the time just sometimes put foot down and nothing there.eventaually mine got ridiclously bad and the car wouldnt even go 70mph

My car coughs, splutters and hesitates when there is less than 1/4 tank in it. I just assumed all ford turbo cars did it.

just keep it out of the red an it will b fine (or when its in the red, drive slowly)

Cheers. Yeah i know i shouldnt let it go low and as a rule i dont, but thought if the tank has broke down inside it would show more if fuel was low????

Anyhows, am of to fill up to brim in a mo so thatll solve that mystery i hope

Renewed the filter but get no buzzes from the pump at all i reckon its good.

Incedently when i renewed the filter, the tickover lifted from 800 to 1100 ish! So that was deffo clogged but then i get this again! Thats what makes me think tank???

For the sake of Ł20 mate replace your cap and rotor. Mine looked perfect but I had similar issues and was only 6 moths old but I replace em and this made it run like a new car after it was replaced..

The last bit of an RS Turbo fuel tank ain't fuel. It's about 12 years worth of shit....

Always keep the thing full m8. I made the mistake of running out on my first one (I was miles away from anywhere...... ) and fooked the metering head, injectors and fuel pump. My, that was an expensive day.............

Aye, all the crap that accumulates after 12 odd years of use. And the gunge that is left over from the fuel, the waxes and stuff. I had to clean out a 200 tonne tank on my ship cos of wax, 4 days with shovels and pik axes.....

think i'll look at a new tank - although ive run out of petrol a few times - pump buzzing - and had no problems.

I would defo suspetct the bottom boost hose collapsing.

I had a similar problem with my Cossie .The missfire got so bad that i nearly put my fist through the dash as i went to change from 2nd to 3rd I only found the culprit when i checked the gap on my Phase Sensor. The Dizzy was fooked i.e so worn that it was slopping around all over the place

Ive not fitted a guage yet rick. Thats something im currently looking into which is worth buying that aint too expensive!

If you aint read my other post then al tell ya! What happens is i can drive it steady past 3.5 k then boot it and it flys! Try and boot it thru 3-3.5k and it holds back then splutters/pops out of exhaust...then flys

Lee - I have EXACTLY the same probem at the moment with my new engine. It only runs 6psi due to not being setup. Mine doesnt splutter though - just holds back as soon as it starts to boost. It's either the knock sensor or the boost hose - i have a rubber one that Gus's mate kindly gave me - it feels quite firm but still think it's this. Going to swap it over - anyine local to u got a hose u can swap over?

Rick ahmed reckoned the knock sensor too. Do you mean faulty knowck sensor or sommat is triggering it?

Might buy one and change it just to see????? Am sure it aint boost collapsing
